Im Rahmen der von Marc Glöde kuratierten Ausstellungsreihe (Re-)locating the Self platziert Bettina Khano im Yoga Center Y8 zahlreiche gekrümmte Überwachungsspiegel im Raum. Durch die Ausrichtungen der Spiegel im Zusammenspiel mit unterschiedlichen Blickpositionen, konstruiert sie ein visuelles Netzwerk, das immer wieder neue Perspektiven auf den Raum ermöglicht. Bei der Bewegung durch den Raum geraten die BesucherInnen zusammen mit der schwarz-weißen Bodenfläche vielfach gespiegelt in Rotation. So eröffnet SpanSpace, ganz im Sinne von (Re-)locating the Self, neue Erfahrungsräume, um das Verhältnis von Raum, Körper und Kunst neu zu denken.
In the context of the exhibition series (Re-)locating the Self, curated by Marc Glöde, Bettina Khano installs numerous curved surveillance mirrors in the space of the Yoga Center Y8. By aligning the mirrors in interplay with diverse positions of view she constructs a visual network that allows for ever novel perspectives of the room. When moving through this space, visitors as well as the black-and-white floor area fall into rotation in multiple reflections. Thus, SpanSpace creates novel spaces of experience, entirely within the meaning of (Re-)locating the Self, so as to consider the relationship between space, body and art anew.
