Two things tend to be in notorious short supply on art fairs: space and time. Gallery owners, fair organisers, buyers and artists alike long for both, but even the lounges and bars of such events are rarely free of visual overload or business conversations. Bettina Khano and Sybille Kesslau recognise this fact and in their installation create such free space. The deck chairs for relaxation, intended for one person, and the White Cube, which dissolves all image worlds in white fog for those entering it, create the possibility for a intermediating space, intermediating time. Thereby they not only allow fair participants to escape sensual exhaustion but also give way to a path which is leans on the market but is separate from it.
